Heavy Equipment Data
Our Heavy Equipment data covers all types of equipment, including all types of tractors, graders, backhoes, cranes, lifts, trucks and farm equipment. Each record gives a breakdown about the equipment with details like the year it was manufactured, the make, model, price, fuel type and transmission, along with the equipment's location and contact details for the seller. We also track how long the listing has been continuously listed online. If there's a serial number or VIN we'll include that too and also check for any previous times that equipment may have shown up online. The data comes from hundreds of equipment websites that we crawl daily, with a complete refresh every 24 hours. The data covers the entire US and goes back to the Fall of 2018, with usually about 800k pieces of equipment actively for sale at any point in time. The data is available as both an API or an FTP data dump depending upon your preference.
Crawling is done using MarketCheck's proprietary web crawler, "Autobot." Autobot is a highly optimized crawling technology designed for large scale web harvesting. It utilizes advanced pattern recognition algorithms to navigate complex site structures and obtain listing records with the highest fidelity and efficiency possible. This powerful technology has allowed us to achieve levels of unprecedented coverage, depicting market-wide activity for a number of diverse industries, not available through any other single-source provider. Autobot is a "polite crawler" that respects website instructions for bots and treads lightly to minimize the impact. Dealer's wishing to have their site included need do no more than simply have a website that allows search engines like Google or Bing to crawl their content. Provided that they do, we'll take care of everything else, and go out of our way to make sure that Autobot knows about it. If you're a dealer and you want to just make sure we're crawling your site, contact us. If we've somehow missed we'll be happy to add it (for free).
Who Uses MarketCheck
Some of the more obvious ways MarketCheck data gets used include powering search apps and appraisal tools. But MarketCheck data is also used in some less obvious ways too, like verifying inventory data, locating open recalls or tracking down stolen vehicles. Our clients span the full spectrum, from the very large to the very small, and we go out of our way to produce a product that encourages creativity and innovation. If you have questions about how your project might fit in, just give us a call. We can usually advise about the best approach for your particular type of use case and we're always happy to hear about the different ways people are using the data.
Integrating the Data
MarketCheck data is made available through several easy-to-integrate APIs, with endpoints already in place for most of the things you'll probably want to do with it. Integrating the data is fast and easy, and if you already have some experience working with APIs you can be up and running in just a few minutes. But if you need help we're always happy to lend a hand and ready to jump in any time. For special uses requiring a lot of pre-processing, like custom analytics, you may want to receive the data as a feed rather than an API. In these instances, we can set up a data dump at whatever location and schedule you require. We prefer FTP but if you need something special just let us know. For special reports or other one-off uses just let us know what you need and we can most likely create it. Data can be sent raw or pre-processed according to preference, and in whatever database format you might require.
